Kathy brings a unique blend of legal expertise, writing skill, and personalized guidance to her work with students and families at Method Learning. She has been assisting families through the college admissions process for several years, helping students identify colleges that align with their academic strengths, personal goals, and financial considerations.
Kathy earned her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Indiana University Bloomington and her law degree from DePaul University College of Law. She has practiced law for more than 25 years and continues to practice today. She is also a content writer and editor for LexisNexis. Her professional background gives her a strong eye for detail and makes her particularly effective in helping students develop thoughtful essays and present their experiences clearly in the college application process.
Known for her patient and supportive approach, Kathy works with students of all academic levels and interests. She helps students build personalized college lists, identify strong fit schools, and navigate each step of the application process with confidence. She also supports students pursuing specialized scholarship opportunities and highly selective admissions paths.
Kathy brings the added perspective of a parent who has navigated the college admissions process with her own children, allowing her to guide families with both professional expertise and personal understanding.
Outside of her advising work, Kathy is active with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Illinois, where she serves as an essay grader for the LLS Scholarship for Blood Cancer Survivors and as Chairman of the Leadership Committee for the Student Visionaries of the Year campaign.
