Lee Tobin

Lee has over a decade of experience in college access and school counseling, serving in roles including School Counselor, Lead Counselor, and Department Chair of Student Services. Lee brings a unique lens of perspective and eagerness to every student that he supports, and supports students and families through every stage of the college admissions planning process, including college selection, applications, financial aid strategy, and long-term academic planning. Lee has helped students gain admission to a wide range of institutions, including Ivy League universities, service academies, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), liberal arts colleges, research universities, and community colleges. Lee has worked extensively in varying K-12 public school settings and is especially experienced in supporting first-generation and underserved students and families. He has guided hundreds of families through financial aid planning, scholarship strategy, and FAFSA completion, helping them understand their options and make informed, confident decisions about college affordability. He is also well-versed when it comes to NCAA Eligibility and enjoys assisting families in better understanding the process of becoming academically cleared to be a student-athlete at the college level. Lee is skilled in holistic case management, data-driven advising, and building strong, trust-based relationships with students and families. Throughout his career, Lee has led and expanded college-readiness initiatives, including significantly growing Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) programs and delivering workshops on college applications, financial aid, and post-secondary transitions. He has collaborated closely with college admissions representatives to expand student access to campus visits and admissions insight, and he has presented student outcome data to district leadership to inform strategic decision-making. Outside of his professional work, Lee enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking in sporting events, and exploring new places. He is passionate about education, mentorship, and helping students discover pathways that align with their goals, strengths, and values.
