Dr. Alexander Castilla (Ph.D., Columbia University) is an admissions consultant with nearly 20 years of experience guiding students through the college admissions process. Alexander has mentored students with a wide range of academic interests, particularly in STEM and business. He has helped hundreds of students gain admission to a broad range of colleges that are a great fit, including the United States' top public and private universities. A former sociology and international politics professor, Alexander brings an educator’s depth and a storyteller’s sensibility to the admissions process. As an Ivy League–trained communications specialist and published writer, he teaches students how to craft creative and convincing college essays that reflect intellectual curiosity, leadership, and purpose. 

After 9/11, for over a decade, as a scholar, advisor, and writer, Dr. Castilla focused on international politics in Europe. His book, Re-imagining European Identity Politics in the 21st Century, along with his contributions to cultural diplomacy, and peace & security studies have been supported and recognized by the U.S. State Department, the United Nations, UNESCO, and distinguished American and European universities and NGOs.

During his free time, Alexander enjoys spending time with his family. He also loves exploring different cultures and meeting new friends, and has traveled extensively in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia.
